Aboagye Agyei

Aboagye Agyei hails from Apinamang, a town that can only be traced on the biggest Regional Map of Ghana in the Denkyemboo (Diamond) District. He was born in November 1950. He has been found by his family, friends and close associates as frantic, idealistic and principled with high sense of humour. He has a School Certificate and General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE ‘O’ Level) in 1975, Cert. ‘A’ 3-Year-Post Secondary Teacher in1979 as one of the pioneers of that Educational Programme. He also obtained the Teachers’ Diploma (Agric. Education.) in 1985 and he also entered University of Cape Coast for 4 years where he obtained double certificates-Diploma (Agric. Extension) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Agriculture) in 1992. He resumed teaching in Koforidua Secondary/Technical School (K’ dua Sec/ Tech) as a Graduate Teacher. He was also one of the pioneers of the Master of Educational Management (M.ED Mgt.) ‘Sandwich Programme’ at UCC between 1998 and 2000.
He was appointed as the Guidance and Counselling Co-ordinator at Sec/Tech. in 1997. In 1999 he became the Head of Agriculture Department. He was also the first Eastern Regional Secretary of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT).
He was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Director of Education in 1997. After 10 years he was automatically promoted to the rank of Deputy Director. He retired honourably as a Classroom Teacher in 2012 having taught for 35 years.
His appointment as Guidance and Counselling Co-ordinator, had been the major contributive factor to the professional mark made through this piece of work. In all sincerity, his Christian faith as a Presbyterian, had not only given him a good understanding and insight into this world, but has also given him tremendous help towards this piece of work.
