Oduro-Kwarteng Marfo is currently the Manager in charge of Communication and External Relations at the Newmont Golden Ridge Limited (Akyem Mine). He is also serving as a volunteer for GCYD and holds the position as the Director for Communications and External Relations for GIBICTS Center for Youth Development.
Oduro has a strategic responsibility for external and internal Communication and to promote the organisation’s reputation locally and regionally, including regular interaction with local media, government officials and key community stakeholders.
He is also responsible for strategic management in planning, initiating, developing relationships between the organisation and communities, government and other stakeholders using a respectful and culturally appropriate approach to guarantee the company’s ability to carry out its activities.
Oduro-Kwarteng Marfo is an alumnus of the School of Communication Studies, University of Ghana and an Executive Member of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Western Africa Affiliate and a member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana.
He has more than 10 years working experience rural Ghana especially in the Eastern Region and understands the social context and community development needs tremendously.
