OUR OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the GCYD Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building programs are to enhance employability of unemployed young people (aged 16-35 years) by providing trainings in the field of ICT, Agriculture and other apprenticeship training programs to improve vocational and technical skills, employment services and by promoting entrepreneurship.
AIM & VISION
To develop and build the capacity of the underprivileged youth through apprenticeship programs in the field of ICT, Agribusiness, and Vocational/Technical to promote self-employment and other forms of employment. This is hopefully to reduce youth unemployment and the rate of poverty in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

My name is Andrew Baah currently pursuing my Maters in Ukraine in Business Administration and Project Management. I wound not have reached this far without the help of GCCYD (GIBICTS CENTER FOR COMMUNITY AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT) I could not continue my education after my Senior High School due to financial constraints. I thought all hope was lost but GCCYD took me and trained me in ICT as a beginner. I sat for the West African Examination Certificate in Advance Diploma in Information Technology, Networking and Hardware. I was among the best students. I got a job at Newmont Akyem Mines in Ghana as a Data Entry Clerk in their warehouse. I was able to save money to pursue a degree program. I am really thankful to GCCYD for giving me hope when there was no hope and helping me reach this far.

I had no hope when I finished my Junior High School because I come from a low-income family who could not support me to continue my education. I stayed at home for almost 8 years and thought I had no future. I tried had to learn a trade but to no avail because getting money to buy food for work was even a problem for me. I one day met the founder of GCCYD and he decided to help me learn ICT for free. That was the beginning of my success story. I joined the mainstream to pursue the General and Diploma in ICT and wrote the West African Examination Certificate in both General and Advance Certificates in IT, Hardware and Networking. All fees for both tuition and WAEC registration were footed by GCCYD. To God by the glory, I am now the Head of Information Technology in S.D.A Hospital, Koforidua in the eastern part of Ghana. Without the help of GCCYD through God, I would not have made it this far. Some of my colleagues who also had the same opportunity are now working in Banks, GNPC, other institutions and organizations.
